Israelis LOVE to drink coffee outdoor. Whether it is in the middle of extreme hiking or in a relaxed picnic on the beach.
A rich cloture had developed around this habit of cooking the coffee in nature. Friends and family use to gather around the coffee and have a calm and intimate moment together. In my project I wanted to conserve this beautiful habit of gathering around the coffee and to add something to eat with it. The obvious choice for me was to add a cake! I designed a cooking pot- based on the traditional “Wonder Pot” which is used to cook a cake on fire. By multiple the pots chimneys the cooking time is shortened so the coffee and cake are ready to serve at the same time. The design is inspired from the traditional coffee pot and cups that are used in the middle east and in Israel in particular, and at the same time adapted to outdoor conditions and packed in a compact form. |
